P7073 30SEP2009 Niagara falls "horseshoe falls" on the US - Canadian border about 17 miles northwest of Buffalo NY. This waterfall is about 2600 feet wide and 173 feet tall. Notice the high mist cloud in the middle of the falls. Because of a 90 degree bend in the Niagara river at the falls, the Canadian side of the river is the best side for viewing the falls. The boat is a "Maid Of The Mist" tour boat.
P7074 30SEP2009 Niagara falls and the Niagara river on the US - Canadian border about 17 miles northwest of Buffalo NY. The falls on the left are the "American falls" and the falls on the right are part of the "horseshoe falls". Goat island is between these falls. Because of a 90 degree bend in the Niagara river at the falls, the Canadian side of the river is the best side for viewing the falls. There are two "Maid Of The Mist" tour boats in this view.
