"John Cain, Sr., and Miss Pritchard were married in Pendleton, S.C. in 1804. He was born in Rutherford County, N.C. 1779 and moved with his parents to Va. in 1781 and after a residence there 10 years he moved to Greenville, S.C., where he lived until his 24th year. Then hewent to Pendleton, S.C. in 1803. He there married Miss Pritchard in 1804. They had five sons and one daughter. His first wife died in 1825. His second marriage was with Miss Edna Pool. They had one son. In 1855, his last wife died and left him alone. He came to Ga. in 1828, lived in Hall Co. three years, in 1831 went to Gwinnett County, in 1841 he joined the Baptist Church. He died of no disease, but worn by the friction of accumulated years the wheels of life stood still, giving his own emphatic language. I am going to that happy, happy world."
